Last week the weather took a decidedly Autumnal turn here in The Lakes. Combine that with every man and his dog telling us they were starting their Christmas shopping (you're all far more organised than I!), and preparing the Autumn/Winter stock to go live on the website shortly, and I definitely had the feeling that Summer had been and gone.
This week, though, the sun has shown up to prove me wrong! (And with my wedding in just over a week, I'm very happy about it, too!) So even though the Summer holidays might be coming to an end, there's still time to make the most of the last few rays of sunshine!
Take a bit of your holiday home with you
Now this one is something we can definitely help you with! Whether it's a bottle of your favourite Lakes gin to sip in the garden when the kids have gone to bed, to remind you of your fabulous holiday, a tasty local treat, or perhaps a locally made candle, you can take a little piece of your holiday home with you!
Spend time outside
Make the most of the sunshine by enjoying walks, picnics and gatherings outside!
Spend time with friends
Nothing screams Summer to me like al fresco evening gatherings in the garden. Cook up a storm, dust off your BBQing skills, get the paddling pool out for the kids, or just kick back with some drinks. These longer days will be gone before we know it so lets make the most of it!
Bring a bit of the sunshine in
Even if the weather doesn't hold out, what's stopping you bringing some of those sunny vibes inside?! Think warm sunny colours, Mediterranean prints, citrus patterns, and why not throw in a couple of house plants while you're at it?!
So whatever you've got planned as the Summer holidays draw to a close, and whether or not you managed to get away this year, make sure you make the most of this last little bit of British Summer. Take it from someone who's just been propping Christmas stock on the website, Winter will be here before we know it!!
